Thanks to our community, we surpassed our $2,000 crowdfunding goal for the Nottingham Urban Farm! This means a bonus $3,000 match from Community Capital Fund, yielding a total project budget of $20,000. The Nottingham Urban Farm is an innovative way to get fresh, organic produce onto the plates of neighborhood working families. It is a community-supported agriculture operation (CSA) with elements of a community garden as well. Volunteer resident gardeners will care for the produce before it is sold to neighbors at an affordable rate. It does not get any more locally sourced than this! This previously vacant, trash-strewn, and unsafe strip of land now has been cleared and mulched. Students from William Jewell College assisted with the construction of over 40 raised beds. Soon local residents will have a beautiful garden to enjoy right next door. |
